Øssur Johannesen born in 1970 on the Faroe Island, and has lived in Copenhagen for many years. Øssur is a gifted visual artist, musician, composer and a poet. His art is original, authentic, personal, dramatic, dark and expressive. Always full of powerful emotions like loneliness, longing, suffering and death. Art Brut at its best! Johannesen like to use blue, black and red as the main colors in his acrylic paintings, and the motives are often people. He paints the inner soul of human beings and he paints the sea, the moon, angles and demons. Øssur is interested in religious motifs of Jesus and trees from all 4 seasons. As a musician, Johannesen has recorded several CD’s, and as a poet, he has written some poetry books.
